About Us

Potomac ANG

Founded in 1999 by a group of dedicated stitchers, the Potomac Chapter is part of the American Needlepoint Guild and is a 501(c)(3) organization.  The Chapter was founded for the purpose of encouraging interest and educational opportunities in needlepoint. Over the years the chapter has sponsored workshops with nationally recognized teachers, provided support for ANG seminars, and pursued educational programs at monthly meetings.

American Needlepoint Guild (ANG)

The American Needlepoint Guild, Inc. (ANG) is an educational, non-profit organization whose purpose is educational and cultural development through participation in and encouragement of interest in the art of needlepoint. ANG defines needlepoint as any counted or free stitchery worked by hand with a threaded needle on a readily countable ground.

ANG offers education through a variety of programs that include correspondence courses, cyber workshops and workshops by mail as well as through annual and regional seminars.  The annual seminars provide an opportunity to take classes with national teachers, enter and view an exhibit of finished works by fellow members, find and buy special needlework items at merchandise night, meet the teachers at teacher’s showcase and meet up with stitching friends.

ANG is the premier membership organization for stitchers of all skill levels who want to hone their craft, advance their techniques, and connect with other stitchers who share a passion for needlepoint.  Join the needlepoint community dedicated to education and artistry and enjoy a wide range of benefits exclusive to ANG members: www.needlepoint.org
